Getting started
What is Maths Monster?
Maths Monster helps your child revise GCSE maths using spaced practice — short sets of real exam-style questions that come back at just the right intervals so the maths actually sticks, instead of being crammed and forgotten. Every question comes with worked solutions, and your child's uploaded work is marked with feedback so they know exactly where they went wrong.
Which exams and boards does it cover?
GCSE maths across the major UK boards — OCR, AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and IGCSE — at both Foundation and Higher tiers. The questions are written and adapted from real exam material, so your child practises the style they'll actually meet in the exam.
Is there a free trial? Do I need a card?
Yes — you can start a 30-day free trial with no card required. There's also a permanently free tier that gives you access to the lessons and units, so you can look around before deciding.
Is it only for GCSE?
Maths Monster is built around the GCSE curriculum. If you're not sure whether it's right for your child's year or level, get in touch and we'll help you decide.
How the learning works
What is "Test Me" and how do questions arrive?
When your child is ready to practise a topic, they tap Test Me. We then send that topic's questions to them over time — not all at once. The first comes soon; later ones arrive at gradually increasing gaps. This is spaced repetition, one of the most reliable ways to move maths from short-term memory into long-term recall.
Why do the same topics keep coming back?
That's the point, and it's deliberate. Seeing a topic again after you've started to forget it is what builds lasting memory. Maths Monster spaces each return based on how well your child says they understood it, so easy topics come back less often and tricky ones come back sooner.
What happens when my child submits their work?
Your child works through the question on paper and uploads a photo of their working. Our system marks it against the model answer and produces feedback that names what went well and exactly where a mistake crept in — not a vague "check your working". Every piece of feedback is reviewed by a person before it's sent, so your child never receives careless or confusing marking.
What if my child doesn't understand a worked solution?
On the answer pages, if your child rates a question as not-yet-understood, they can tap the exact line of the solution that isn't making sense and ask why. They get a short, plain-English explanation of that step — and, like the marking, every explanation is checked by a person before your child sees it.
What are the traffic lights?
After viewing the answers, your child rates each question red, amber, yellow or green depending on how confident they felt. This does two things: it tells us how soon to bring that topic back, and it gives you an honest picture of where they actually are.
Plans, payment and access
What plans are available?
There are four levels, and each unlocks a bit more:
• Free — all the lessons and units, so you can explore.
• Basic — everything in Free, plus the practice questions and short answers.
• Premium — everything in Basic, plus full worked solutions, step-by-step explanations, video walkthroughs, answer PDFs, and AI marking of your child's uploaded work.
• Premium Plus — everything in Premium, plus live tutoring sessions each month (with extra sessions at a reduced rate) and session recordings.
How much does it cost?

What's the difference between the A1, A2 and A3 answer tabs?
A1 is the short answers (was your child right?). A2 is the exam-style workings (how you'd write it up in the exam). A3 is the step-by-step explanation (the why behind each step). Free and Basic see the short answers; Premium and above unlock the full workings, explanations and videos.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. You can cancel whenever you like and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Your child's safety and privacy
Is my child’s data safe?
Yes. The people using the learning side are children, and we treat their data accordingly, under UK GDPR and the Children's Code. We collect only what's genuinely needed to help your child learn, we don't build advertising profiles of children, and privacy protections are switched on by default. What happens to the photos of my child’s work?
Uploaded homework images are used to mark that piece of work and are not kept any longer than they need to be. They're not shared or used for anything beyond giving your child feedback.
Who sees my child's work?
Marking and explanations are drafted by our system and then checked by a person before anything is sent to your child. That human review is a deliberate safeguard, not an afterthought.
Can I have my child's data deleted?
Yes. You can ask us to delete your child's data at any time and we'll act on it. Just email privacy@maths.monster.
Account and support
How do I log in?
You can sign in with a one-tap magic link we email you (no password to remember), or set a password if you prefer.
My login link didn't arrive — what do I do?
Check your spam or promotions folder first, as login emails sometimes land there. If it's still not there after a few minutes, request another one, and if you're stuck, contact us and we'll get you in.
Can I add more than one child?
Get in touch and we'll help you set up practice for your family — we're happy to talk through the best way to do that for more than one child.
